69-Year-Old Kathy Brown Tragically Shot in Spring, Texas; Stepdaughter Charged

A heartbreaking tragedy unfolded in Spring, Texas, on October 17, 2025, when 69-year-old Kathy Brown was found shot to death inside her home.

Police say they were called to the 21300 block of Hannover Forest Drive after someone working on Kathy’s pool heard gunshots. When deputies arrived, they found Kathy dead from multiple gunshot wounds.

Investigators later arrested 27-year-old Da’Kayla Dailey, Kathy’s stepdaughter, in connection with the shooting. Police say the shooting stemmed from Da'Kayla being upset because Kathy didn't have any money.

Dailey was taken into custody and made her first court appearance, where her bail was set at $250,000.

This tragic case has left the Spring community shaken and serves as another painful reminder of how devastating gun violence can be.
