The Mableton community is mourning the loss of 45-year-old Tange Hutti-Davis whose body was found after her boyfriend, 56-year-old Cecil McCrary, admitted to killing her and burying her in Atlanta.
Tange was reported missing after her family grew increasingly worried when they hadn’t heard from her. Her son told police that it was unlike his mother to go days without contact. Acting on his concern, he used the OnStar app linked to her Chevrolet Equinox to locate her vehicle in the parking lot of a Lidl grocery store in Mableton, Georgia. He immediately contacted 911.

When officers arrived at the scene, McCrary showed up shortly afterward. He informed police that Tange was his girlfriend and claimed she had last been at his home in Mableton. He also provided surveillance footage that appeared to show her leaving his residence on Thursday night.
As concern for her safety intensified, authorities issued a missing person alert and launched a multi-agency search. During the investigation, McCrary confessed to killing Tange and burying her body in Atlanta.
Through coordination between the Cobb County Police Department and the Atlanta Police Department, officers located Tange’s remains. Investigators say McCrary allegedly stole her phone and vehicle following a domestic dispute.Police records show there had been multiple prior domestic violence incidents involving the couple. At the time of the murder, McCrary was out on pretrial release for kidnapping and aggravated assault charges related to earlier incidents with Tange. McCrary is currently being held in the Cobb County Jail.
This devastating tragedy has deeply affected those who knew and loved Tange. She is remembered as a caring woman whose life was taken far too soon.
