The search for 23-year-old Kada Scott has ended in tragedy. Her body was discovered behind a vacant school in Philadelphia’s Germantown neighborhood, nearly two weeks after she went missing while working an overnight shift at a senior living community.

Authorities confirmed through DNA testing that the remains belonged to Kada. Police say 21-year-old Keon King had already been arrested and charged with kidnapping in connection to her disappearance prior to the discovery of her body. He remains in custody on a $2.5 million bond.

Investigators noted that King had faced kidnapping charges in a previous, unrelated case, but those charges were dismissed after a witness failed to appear in court.

Law enforcement had previously searched the area near the vacant school where Kada’s body was ultimately found but did not locate her during those initial searches. However, they did recover critical evidence, including her phone and debit card. It wasn’t until police received a new tip on Friday that they returned to the area and made the heartbreaking discovery.

A verified GoFundMe has been organized to assist Kada’s family with funeral and memorial expenses. Those wishing to offer support can visit the page here: Find Kada – GoFundMe.

The heartbreaking death of Kada Scott has shaken the Philadelphia community and raised questions about how repeat offenders are handled within the justice system. While her loved ones grieve this devastating loss, they are also calling for accountability and change to prevent future tragedies.

Rest in Peace, Kada Scott.
