Pregnant Woman Angelicca Newton Fatally Shot in Lipscomb, Alabama

On August 21, 2025, 29-year-old Angelicca Newton was tragically shot and killed during a domestic violence incident in Lipscomb, Alabama. The shooting occurred shortly before 10:30 a.m. near the intersection of 5th Street North and 6th Avenue North.
Authorities confirmed that Newton was pregnant at the time of her death, adding even more heartbreak to the tragedy.
Police arrested 32-year-old Alfred Lee Colvin III, who has been charged with capital murder in connection to Newton’s death. He is currently being held at the Jefferson County Jail without bond as the investigation continues.
The case has shaken the local community and brought renewed attention to the devastating impacts of domestic violence in Alabama.
