On August 20, 2005, Catrina Beatrice Evans was found brutally murdered in her

Augusta, Georgia apartment at 2445 Amsterdam Drive. She had been stabbed to death, and tragically, her one-year-old child was also discovered inside the apartment.
Thankfully, the child survived.
For nearly two decades, the case remained unsolved. One of Augusta’s haunting cold cases. But in July 2025, investigators revisited the evidence, leading to a major breakthrough.
A palm print found near Catrina’s body was resubmitted to the GBI Department of Forensic Science Crime Lab for testing. Results confirmed the print belonged to Juan Renaldo Tillman, also known as Juan Renardo Chunn.
Chunn is currently incarcerated at Columbus Correctional Institution in Whiteville, North Carolina, serving a life sentence for a separate first-degree murder conviction.
Now, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that Chunn will face a murder charge in connection with Catrina Evans’ death.
After nearly 20 years, justice for Catrina may finally be within reach.

Rest in Peace, Catrina Beatrice Evans.
