The quiet community of Vallejo, California has been rocked by the disturbing discovery of 28-year-old Renia Lewis, whose dismembered remains were found hidden behind a secret entry to an attic.
Renia was last seen on September 26, 2025, around 9:00 p.m., but she was not officially reported missing until September 29th. Following new leads, authorities obtained a second search warrant for the same home. During this thorough search, investigators uncovered a concealed entrance leading to an attic, where they found the dismembered remains of Renia Lewis.
This grim revelation sent shockwaves through the community and renewed calls for justice from family and friends who had been desperately searching for answers.
Police identified 41-year-old Douglas Shaw as the primary suspect in Renia’s murder. Shaw was taken into custody and is currently being held at the Solano County Jail without bail.
Authorities have not publicly confirmed the nature of the connection between Renia and Shaw. According to Renia’s family, there was no known prior relationship between the two, and they believe the pair may have only recently met.
Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the motive behind this heinous crime. Both state and federal agencies, including the FBI, are actively involved as evidence is processed and forensic examinations continue.
The tragic death of Renia Lewis serves as yet another reminder of the dangers women face and the importance of community awareness in missing-person cases.
Rest in Peace, Renia Lewis.
