According to 11Alive, arrest warrants indicate that Martin told authorities he killed his mother and stepfather because he “just wanted to be alone.” Duberry reportedly called police himself to report that he had shot both Monica and John. Reports state the couple had just returned home after celebrating John’s birthday. As Monica walked through the door, Martin allegedly shot her in the head, then allegedly shot John moments later.
