Detroit Rapper Bandgang Boom (David Avery) Shot and Killed at Latham Park

On August 17, 2025, Detroit rapper David Avery, better known as Bandgang Boom, was shot and killed during a tragic incident in Latham Park, Detroit, Michigan. The shooting occurred around 8:00 p.m. while community members gathered for a repass.
According to Detroit police, witnesses reported that a burgundy Chrysler 300 pulled up and multiple shots were fired into the crowd. Three people were struck during the gunfire: two women, who sustained injuries, and Avery, who sadly died from his wounds.
Authorities have not announced any arrests in connection to the Latham Park shooting, and the investigation into Bandgang Boom’s death remains ongoing.
