Dashanna Donovan, 21, Fatally Shot in East Elmhurst Apartment

On September 12, 2025, 21-year-old Dashanna Donovan was tragically shot and killed inside her apartment in East Elmhurst, Queens. According to investigators, an unidentified gunman chased Donovan into her home
before opening fire, ultimately shooting her in the head.
The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. on 96th Street near 31st Avenue. Police say surveillance video captured the suspect running after Donovan with a gun in hand.
When officers arrived, they discovered multiple shell casings scattered across the floor of Donovan’s apartment. Several bullet holes were also found throughout the walls, suggesting the shooter fired multiple rounds inside the home.
Authorities described the suspect as wearing a blue sweatshirt, black pants, black sneakers, and carrying a backpack. At this time, investigators have not determined whether the assailant knew Donovan or if this was a targeted attack.
The NYPD has not yet made any arrests in connection with Donovan’s murder. Detectives are actively reviewing video evidence and asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect.
